Cactus

Cacti grow in the warmer, drier corners of the Night Zoo. Not especially friendly to handle. But resilient, and their fibres have uses in crafting that softer materials cannot match.

Some Zookeepers grow them in their dens as decoration. The cactus does not mind where it lives. But it does insist on being prickly about it.
